Climate Change In Pakistan: Outcomes and Possible Solutions On Country’s Economy: Empowering Farmers and Ensuring Agricultural Resilience

Abstract


The current era has witnessed a surge in discussions surrounding climate variations, with the consequential impacts of these changes would initiate political debates. Utilizing a qualitative content analysis approach, it has become evident that significant disparities exist between factual evidence and subjective values concerning rapid change of climate and its overall impact on struggling countries. Pakistan, being a struggling economy, is already grappling with numerous challenges, and the catastrophic consequences of climate change worsen the situation further. Due to dependency on agriculture, Pakistan experiences severe consequences from climate change. The measures taken in COP 27 would be essential to follow to cope with climate change concern and emphasize Pakistan’s efforts in mitigation strategies. Salaam Takaful Limited Crop Parametric Takaful has provided the much needed financial support to approximately 100 farmers in different districts of Punjab that demonstrates the program’s effectiveness and organization’s sincerity by supporting the farmers facing climate-related risks such as extreme temperatures and rainfall. However, effective collaboration and implementation strategies and good governance can play a crucial role in minimizing the challenges posed by climate change.
